Well, in the first week at my new gym, I had 22 workouts! Very exciting! The space is good, everyone is working hard, and we now have room and overhead space to jump rope, push the sled, and do shuttle runs/sprints! The kickboxing bags are fully functional, too. Not that everyone is excited about those things, but so much more possibilities for workouts just opened for all of us!
Last Thursday, my girls held an impromptu gym-warming party. . . we enjoyed some snacks and wine and christened the space before our first official workouts started on Friday morning. Thank you, Cathy, for organizing this fun time.
I want to thank Janet (& Andrew) for helping with flooring and taking care of lunch and dinner on my busy day! I also want to give a shout out to Katie for spending the ENTIRE day with me on Thursday moving everything out of our basement and into the new space, picking up kickboxing bags from Dick’s, and hitting Home Depot. Thanks, Katie!! And, finally, thanks to my husband who has helped and guided me along to this point. Without all of his research and work over the past several years, I wouldn’t have a clue of how to open a gym.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be ironing out any kinks and logistic issues and will be getting ready for new clients once the new year rolls around and everyone wants to lose weight and get in shape.
Here’s to a happy, healthy and fit new year!
